Stuck in a rut
Use your car’s floor mats to improve traction. Don’t stand behind the steering wheel with a floor mat underneath you, as the mat may come off. You may have to repeat this process a few times to free yourself (and potentially ruin the mat), but it’s better than being stuck on the side of the road and putting yourself at risk.
Prevents ice from forming overnight
For windshields and windows, fill a spray bottle with 3 parts regular vinegar and 1 part warm water. Just before dark, spray the mixture evenly onto your windows and windshield. The acetic acid in the vinegar will prevent the water from freezing without damaging your car.
